Ugandans pay with MTN MoMo and Airtel Money and identify with the National ID issued by NIRA. IdentifyOrg gives Kampala startups an API for SMS verification codes and for reading an ID document and matching a selfie, with prices shown in Ugandan shillings.
NIRA issues the National ID card carrying the National Identification Number (NIN). A live NIN lookup is on our roadmap. For now, document OCR reads the card, liveness confirms a real person and face match compares the selfie to the ID photo.
The Ugandan shilling is quoted in whole units, so our prices there are shown in whole shillings, rounded up. Phone numbers look like 0772 123456 locally and +256772123456 internationally.
BVN verification, NIN verification, Driver's licence (FRSC), Bank account name check, BVN to account match, CAC business registry check, Credit bureau score, Bills (airtime, data, electricity, TV), Business payment gateway (collections) depend on Nigerian records and are available for Nigeria only.
