A scanned page is just a picture — you can't search it, copy from it or edit it. OCR reads the characters and gives you the text back, whether it's a scanned PDF, a photo of a document, or a screenshot.
Pull selectable text out of a scanned PDF or a photo of a document.
Clear, straight scans of printed text come out very accurate. Accuracy drops with blurry photos, unusual fonts, handwriting and skewed pages — a flat, well-lit scan gives the best result.
PDFs are limited to 30 pages per run, because OCR is by far the most processor-intensive tool here. Split a longer document first.
