Companies House publishes its data free through its own REST API. This service is for teams that would rather not run that integration themselves, or that also need companies from other countries in the same response shape. Be clear about the trade: Companies House directly is free; this adds convenience, normalisation and one bill.
Name, company number, a normalised status (active, dissolved or insolvency) with the original wording, registration date, registered office address, SIC codes and company type. Current directors and officers are available on request. Searching by name returns up to five matches to choose from.
Direct use needs your own API key and an application registered on the Companies House developer hub, and requests are rate limited (600 per five minutes at the time of writing). Our service holds the key and throttles for you, so a burst of checks from your side does not get you blocked.
The same request and response shape works for Norway, Czechia, France and US SEC filers, so adding a second country is a change of one field, not a second integration.
It is not a bulk data feed, a filings archive or a credit report. For those, use Companies House's own downloads or a credit bureau.

Only if you set include_officers, because directors are personal data. Resigned officers are left out.
No: Companies House is free. This is for convenience and for multi-country consistency.
