Coming: Carte d'électeur / National ID verification

A DR Congo-specific identity check against the Carte d'électeur / National ID (CENI / DGM) is planned. Until it launches, you can verify people in DR Congo with document OCR, liveness and face match, which work with any passport, national ID or driver's licence photo.

Phone number format

DR Congo mobile numbers are written locally as 081 234 5678 and internationally as +243812345678. The leading 0 is a national prefix: we drop it when we add +243, so local-format numbers work if you also send the country.

Topping up your balance

Card payments and mobile money (M-Pesa, Orange Money, Airtel Money) in CDF, converted to your naira balance at the rate shown when you pay. Provider availability is set per country, and cards in US dollars are the fallback where a local-currency option is not open yet.

Data protection

Personal data in DR Congo is governed by the Digital Code (Ordonnance-loi 23/010). Phone verification stores only a salted hash of each code; check your own obligations as the data controller.
