Banks, lenders and fintechs
Complete a company's KYB with its registration and tax ID in a single check.
One lookup returns the company's name, status and tax ID (TIN), ready for your KYB, invoicing and onboarding.
When you onboard a supplier, lend to a company, list a seller or raise an invoice, you need two things about the business: that it is really registered, and its tax ID. Getting both usually means a trip to one website for the registration and another for the tax number, then copying between them. The Business Tax ID Finder does it in one step. Enter the company's CAC registration number (an RC, BN or IT number, or an AV code) and we find the company on CAC's register, confirm that it is active, and return its tax ID. Every Nigerian business must have a tax ID: if the company already has one you get that one, and if it has none yet CAC's Tax ID service issues it, so you are never left without an answer for an active company. Use it from your dashboard for a single company, call the API from your own system, or add it as a step in a Verification Suite flow so each business you onboard is checked and its tax ID is captured automatically. It is priced low enough to run on every business you meet, and you are refunded if CAC cannot answer.
Complete a company's KYB with its registration and tax ID in a single check.
Verify sellers and vendors and keep their tax ID on file for payouts and reporting.
Confirm a supplier is registered and capture its tax ID before the first purchase order.
Fill a customer's tax ID on an invoice without asking them to dig it out.
Onboard business customers faster, with a checked registration and tax ID.
Create a free account, fund your wallet, and open Business Tax ID in your dashboard (or use an API key to call the endpoint).
Enter the company's RC number and press Find tax ID. Test mode returns a sample answer so you can build first.
Read the company's details and tax ID, copy it, or let your system store it from the API response. Add the Tax ID step to a Verification Suite flow to do it for every business you onboard.
Create a free account, fund your wallet, and open Business Tax ID in your dashboard. Test mode is free.
You are charged when CAC answers, including when it says there is no such company. If CAC's services cannot answer, the call fails with an error and you are not charged. Test keys are free and return a sample answer.
POST /v1/verify/tax-id, authenticated with your X-IdentifyOrg-Key header.

Only its CAC registration number: an RC number such as 9373949 (RC9373949 works too), a BN or IT number, or an AV code. You do not need the company's name or any login.
From CAC's public Tax ID service, the same one behind the Get Tax ID button on CAC's own public search page. We look the company up on CAC's register first, then ask that service for its tax ID.
Every Nigerian business must have a tax ID. If an active company does not have one yet, CAC's Tax ID service issues it when asked, and our answer says so with `newly_issued: true`. If it already existed you get the existing one, with `newly_issued: false`.
No. Like CAC's own page, we only ask for companies that are active on the register. For others the tax ID is empty and the note says why.
It costs the price shown above per lookup. You are charged when CAC answers, including "no such company". If CAC cannot answer, you get an error and are not charged. When CAC is busy (it allows only a few searches a minute), the lookup says so and you can try again in a minute.
Yes. Call the endpoint from your server, or add the Business tax ID step to a Verification Suite flow. The Suite step compares the company name your applicant typed with the register, captures the tax ID, and shows it to you on the applicant page.
No. It shows the company's tax identification number, not its tax compliance. The company's status on CAC's register tells you whether it is active.
The data comes from CAC's public register and Tax ID service. IdentifyOrg is not CAC or the tax authority, and the answer is as current as their records.
