Control or look at someone's computer from a meeting

In any meeting, press Share screen in the bar at the bottom (on a phone, under More) and choose Access a PC remotely. You pick a person, they say yes inside the call, their IdentifyOrg Remote app opens by itself, and their screen appears over the meeting. The call keeps going, so you can still talk. Press Show the call to bring the faces back while the session runs.

Asking

1. Sign in to your IdentifyOrg account (verify your email first). The meeting stays open in its own tab.
2. Press Share screen, choose Access a PC remotely, then choose the person, and choose Control their computer or Just look.
3. Wait for them to say yes. If the app is already on their computer it opens and the session starts. If not, they are shown how to install it.

Keep talking, and let others watch

• While you work on their computer, the people in the meeting stay in view in the corner of the screen, and your microphone and camera buttons there are the meeting's. They hear you and you hear them.
• Press Let others watch to choose who in the meeting sees the screen you are working on: Only me (the start), Everyone in the meeting, or Only people I choose. It shows to them like a shared screen. They can watch, not control, and you can change the choice at any time.

Being asked

1. You see who is asking and what they want to do. Press Allow or No.
2. Allow opens the IdentifyOrg Remote app. If your browser asks, press Open. The first time, the app has to be installed: the page shows the download and the steps for your computer.
3. A red bar on your screen shows you are being controlled. Press Stop in it at any time.

Installing the app on a Mac

• Open the downloaded file and drag IdentifyOrg Remote into Applications, then open it.
• If your Mac says it cannot check the app for malicious software: press Done, open System Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down and press Open Anyway. Or Control-click the app, choose Open, then Open again. You only do this once.
• Allow Screen Recording and Accessibility in System Settings, Privacy & Security. The app has buttons that open each page. When your Mac asks, quit and reopen the app.
• If your Mac says the app is damaged, open Terminal and paste: xattr -cr /Applications/IdentifyOrg\ Remote.app and open the app again.
• Black screen after the person connects: Screen Recording is not switched on. They can see but cannot click: Accessibility is not switched on.
• The switch is on but the app still says not allowed: macOS is remembering an older copy of the app. In the app window press Fix it for me, let it restart, then switch IdentifyOrg Remote on again in Screen Recording and Accessibility.

Installing the app on Windows

• Open the downloaded Setup file. If a blue screen says Windows protected your PC, press More info, then Run anyway. It appears because the app is new and not yet signed with a paid certificate.
• If it asks Do you want to allow this app to make changes, press Yes. The installer opens the app when it finishes.
• If your antivirus blocks the file, restore it from quarantine or choose Allow, then run it again.
• Cannot control Task Manager or another installer: close the app, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.

How long a session lasts

• Free: sessions of 30 minutes, on 2 computers. The viewer shows the time left.
• A paid Meetings plan (Organization or Enterprise) includes the paid Remote Access features at no extra cost: up to 8 hours, file transfer, several screens and sound.
• You can also buy Remote Premium on its own from the Remote access page.

The person must say yes every time, and nobody can control a computer that has not run the app. A browser alone can show a screen in a meeting but can never move the mouse on another computer; that is why the small app is needed, once.
