My bill payment failed. Was I charged?

You are charged when you press Pay, and returned the money automatically if the payment is refused or the company behind it cannot be reached. Look at Usage and Billing:

• A charge followed by a refund line: the payment failed and your money is back. You can try again.
• A charge with no refund and a success message: the payment went through. For airtime or data, check the phone. For electricity, the token is on the receipt.
• A message saying it is still being processed: wait a few minutes and check again. Do not pay twice. If the second payment were made, it would be a second purchase.

Common reasons for a refusal

• The meter or smartcard number is wrong.
• The amount is below the company's minimum.
• The network or electricity company is temporarily down. Try again in a few minutes.
