Understanding your balance, charges and receipts

Your balance is prepaid naira. Each paid action takes its price from it at the moment you use it. There is no monthly fee.

The lines you will see

• Top-up: money you added.
• Charge: something you used, such as a verification, a bill, an SMS or a call minute. The description says which.
• Refund: money returned to your balance, for example when a provider failed after we had charged you. Refunds happen automatically.
• Adjustment: a change made by our team, with the reason written beside it.

Good to know

• A check that could not run because of a fault on our side or a provider's side is refunded, so you do not pay for it.
• A check that ran and found nothing (for example an ID number that does not exist) is a real answer and is charged.
• Your first use of some products is free. The Usage page shows it as a zero-amount line.
• Calls, streams and chats are charged by the minute after the session ends.
