Common API errors and what to do about them

• 401 missing_api_key or invalid_api_key: the X-IdentifyOrg-Key header is missing, mistyped or the key was deleted. Create a new key.
• 402 insufficient_balance: your balance is below the price. Top up and retry with the same Idempotency-Key.
• 403 insufficient_key_scope: you used a publishable key where a secret key is needed. Publishable keys only open call and chat tokens.
• 403 live_mode_off: you used a live key before switching the account to live. Use a test key, or switch to live under API Keys.
• 400 or 422 with a message: the request body is wrong. The message names the field.
• 404 not found: the id belongs to someone else's account or does not exist.
• 409 conflict: something like a reference you already used. Use a new one.
• 429 too many requests: slow down and retry after a short wait.
• 502 provider_error: a company behind the service could not be reached. Your balance was not affected. Retry with the same Idempotency-Key.

Never retry blindly without an Idempotency-Key on a payment. See 'Retry safely'.
