WhatsApp selling: let customers order and pay in the chat

WhatsApp selling means your customers order from you on WhatsApp: they ask for your price list, choose what they want, confirm, and pay. You stay in control and get every order.

Set it up (about 10 minutes)

1. Connect your WhatsApp number if you have not yet.
2. Fill in your business name and type under Take Payments. This is needed so customers can pay you.
3. Open Products and prices and add what you sell. Add one at a time, or paste many lines like: Red shoes, 15000.
4. Open WhatsApp, choose your number, then Settings, and find Take orders in this chat. Tick Orders switched on, add a delivery fee if you charge one, and choose whether to ask for a delivery address.
5. Send MENU to your own number from another phone and place a test order. (Use test mode in Take Payments to avoid real money.)

What your customer experiences

1. They send MENU (or ORDER or PRICES). They get your numbered price list.
2. They reply with the item numbers and how many, like 1x2, 3 (two of item 1 and one of item 3).
3. They see their order and the total, and reply YES to confirm (or send new numbers to change it, or CANCEL).
4. They send their delivery address.
5. They get a secure payment link. When they pay, they get a receipt and a 4-digit delivery code.

After the order

• You see the order and payment in Take Payments, and developers get an order.paid webhook.
• Ask for the delivery code when you hand the goods over. A right code closes the order as delivered; this stops goods being collected by the wrong person.
• The money is available to withdraw 24 hours after it is paid. Details.

Already have a website or shop system?

Keep it. In the same Settings box you can give us the address of your product list (a simple list of names and prices on your website) so the chat always shows your latest prices, and you can choose to have each confirmed order sent to your own system, which then answers with your own payment link.
